Middle School Science / 7th Grade

Habitat Wanted

Why are animals important to the places where they live, and what would they need to survive in a new place?

Students assume the roles of animal habitat experts aiding animals rescued from a disaster. They choose a disaster to respond to and design a habitat plan for the animals displaced by that event.

Key content: systems, roles of organisms in ecosystems, biotic and abiotic factors, resources and populations, energy & matter in ecosystems, biodiversity.

Each middle school science unit is aligned to the Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards.

"I think our primary goal, is student engagement, where they are wanting to learn for learning sake, and not because they are afraid of what's due or a grade. With Educurious, they are not motivated by that, but instead they are motivated, truly, from the material itself."
