Chemistry Superpowers

How can we use chemistry superpowers to solve a local problem?

Students engage with key chemistry principles in this unit that brings chemistry to life! First, students consider the powers of specific superheroes and how to distinguish science from science fiction as they begin to explore the driving question: How can we use chemistry superpowers to solve a local problem? Next, students work in pairs to create a character with chemistry inspired superpowers that can solve a particular local problem. They tell their character’s story and explain the chemistry behind their superpowers through an animation or comic that will be shared with an audience of community members.
